Renda Dabit of Henna Garden has provided numerous valuable resources to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco’s education department for blockbuster exhibitions such as Eternal Egypt:  Masterworks of Ancient Art from the British Museum and Hatshepsut:  From Queen to Pharaoh.  Because of Renda and Henna Gardens the Legion of Honor and the de Young Museums are able to bring a variety of middle-eastern influenced performing groups, artists, historical and contemporary lecture presentations to our visitors . This is an essential component of the museum’s mission to educate ourselves and others on  cultures around the world thus enriching our visitors’ and our own perspectives, values and lives.

Renda is extremely creative, energetic and visionary on her approach to developing concepts and ideas tailoring them to the needs of the institution.  Thanks to her, our programs have been very successful and I am looking forward to how our fall
season unfolds as we embark on a series focusing on Hatshepsut:  From Queen to Pharaoh when the new de Young Museum opens on October 15, 2005.
