A vibrant cultural celebration at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center
On August 16, 2021, the Miners Foundry Cultural Center in Nevada City became the backdrop for a wedding that honored Moroccan and Persian heritage with elegance, authenticity, and depth. The venue’s stone walls and historic architecture created a natural canvas for a wedding rooted in tradition and beauty, with a layout designed to carry guests through a full day and night of celebration.
Over 200 guests gathered in this storied space, surrounded by rich floral colors, ambient lighting, and cultural textures woven throughout every detail. The ceremony included both a Rabbi and a Priest, reflecting the couple’s blended spiritual backgrounds. The result was a deeply personal union grounded in ritual, respect, and community.
From the outset, this wedding was planned with care around key traditions. Moroccan tenting and props created shaded lounge areas that invited guests to relax, gather, and enjoy. We provided full tea and coffee service throughout the day and night, with Moroccan mint tea poured in traditional glasses and Turkish coffee served in hand-painted demitasse cups.
The couple wanted guests to experience the full flavor of their cultures, and that extended to the menu. A spread of Persian specialties was served alongside regional desserts, creating a culinary experience that was both familiar and new for many guests. The visual palette of the food matched the decor—vivid, generous, and rooted in tradition.
The celebration stayed dynamic throughout the evening, thanks to a DJ with a deep library of international music—Moroccan, Persian, American, and global hits woven together to keep the energy flowing. The dance floor was full from early in the evening until late at night, with spontaneous circles, family-led dances, and moments of joy that carried across generations.
This wedding was a strong example of how multicultural celebrations can honor heritage while remaining personal and fluid. Every element—from the rituals to the music, the food to the floral—came together to reflect the couple’s shared vision, creating a day that felt both grounded and celebratory.
